These boots are AWESOME; so tough and edgy looking, but still feminine and stylish. The color is exactly as pictured – a nice, rich brown. They are comfortable, easy to lace and fun to wear.

Awesome boots! Cognac color is beautiful and goes with everything! Read a lot of reviews and many said narrow and size up; so glad I didn’t listen. These fit perfect in my regular size. I have a wide foot and there is plenty of room. Soft leather too! Perfect height for jeans or skirts, dresses. I just love them!

These shoes are just amazing. I have them in the Cognac color, and I love the color so much because it looks vintage and worn out. They keep my feet warm, and they’re quite comfortable. The heel gives off a little extra height, but not to the point where you struggle to walk. If you are the slightest bit interested in these, you should buy them!

The style of these boots is great, but they are terrible quality. Don’t spend your money on these, buy something similar because the manufacturing flaws are not worth it and won’t last. I’ve had 2 pairs. The first pair’s soles cracked completely across under the ball of my foot after 2 months wear. With the second pair, the right heel fell off on the sidewalk after 3 months wear. I love them but they are so badly made. I couldn’t bring myself to get another pair.

I bought these boots at a winners store in Peterborough Ontario less than a year ago. I love the comfort and style but the bottom of both boots is cracked and they will not fix them at the shoe repair. It saddens me that this happened as I would like another pair but do not want to spend the money again and have the same thing happen

I absolutely love these boots BUT after only the third time wearing them the heel started to peel off. I couldn’t bring myself to part with them so I crazy glued them back together and they have been fine ever since.

My daughter also bought a pair of these boots and within 3 months one of the soles cracked. We took them back to the store and they informed us that it was a common problem and many customers took them back, they gave us an exchange set of boots. A few months later passed and the same thing happened to the new set. My daughter called them and the store said that if it was over 3 months they would not have a record and so we would be SOL. I told my daughter to e-mail Steve Madden and they replied to take it to the store. I took them to the store and the store manager said that she would contact her district manager. The store manager called us and told us to bring them back. We took them back and they said it would be the last exchange. The boots are very nice but they scuff easy and because the soles crack across easy (a common defect in workmanship) I will rate them low.

These are the best boots. Initially I bought them so I could stop wearing flats all the time, and then they turned into my everyday shoes. I’ve taken them hiking through mud and boulders, camping in the middle of nowhere and walking around in New York City. So versatile, sturdy, and just as awesome looking with skinny jeans tucked in to them as they look with stockings and a dress. As soon as these boots have a problem (which will probably be a while because they’re holding up great and I’ve had them for almost 5 months now), I’m buying another pair. These are my go-to boots, and it’s a plus they’re so affordable. Definitely worth your money. If you take care of them after you beat them up a bit (clean ’em, shine ’em) they’ll last you a long time no matter what you do in them.

I really love these boots– but for full disclosure, here are a few things I noted: I would say that the color is a little bit lighter in person than in the picture (I ordered the cognac leather color), but is close enough, and still very nice. One boot is just slightly larger around the ankle/calf than the other, but this is really very minimal, more felt than visually noticed. They’re definitely very comfy, and soften up a bit with wear and a quick leather conditioning treatment. I have done a lot of walking in them, and have had no discomfort. Cute with a skirt and leggings, or some skinny jeans. I’d say they’re true to size, but order a half-size larger if you plan on wearing thicker wool socks with them.

These boots are awful! I was hesitant to order these based on some of the previous reviews which claimed they were poor quality….boy, were they right! I love the style of these but they are made so poorly. I had to exchange 5 times! Zappos has wonderful customer service by the way. Everyone I spoke to was so helpful and polite. First pair were in brown which looked nothing like the picture! Instead of that nice aged leather look they were so cheap looking, more like pleather than leather, not worth the money. The others I tried in black, color was fine but after a week the seams ripped, then the heel broke, then parts of the leather looked like it was peeling off – all within a month mind you. Horrible shoes, do not waste your money.

Super comfortable. I get lots of compliments. This is my second pair…yes I wore out the first pair. I wear them with jean and skirts for a little edge. My sister has this pair in brown and she loves them, too. The only complaint is that they have a strange odor at first when they are taken out of the box which goes away after wearing them a few times. I did also air them outside for a day. I highly recommend these boots.

So these boots certainly are stylish but their lack of quality makes the price ridiculous. At the price point you could almost buy some Doc Martens that will last the rest of your life or you could save up some more and buy some Frye boots that will last and last, look even more stylish, and are loaded with history. I am disappointed that I spent my money on these. If you ask me, the side zipper looks cheesy, the leather is alright, the stitching is not meant to last. Save your money and buy something better. Or buy $20 boots, the quality will probably be about the same.

I waited awhile after buying these boots before writing a review because I’d read several that said the sole split or there were other problems with quality. I’ve had no such problems. The boots are beautifully made as far as I can see, and the leather seems high quality and very sturdy. They also smelled amazing when I first opened the box. The boots are a very feminine version of a combat boot. They have a low profile and they are narrow, which makes them impossible to mistake for men’s boots. Yet they still look tough. I’ve been looking for a pair of boots like this for years, and I am in love with these. One note on comfort, they are narrow and the seam at the toe does irritate my feet at times. If you have a wide foot, I would not recommend these. They also run a little small, which I have found is always true with Steve Madden. Other than that — fantastic.

I have not purchased these boots yet but, I am concerned with the fact that the cognac boots are labeled brown and the brown boots are labeled cognac.

These shoes are very cute. However, they do run very large. I’m a exact 11B, and these felt like a 12. Sadly, I forgot to return them within the year, so had to keep them. After I put insoles in them, they were only slightly too big. The quality of these shoes is TERRIBLE. I wore them to work for a week and a half and the soles have already worn down to the point I’m considering getting them resoled, or tossing them as I’m not sure its worth spending the money for poor quality shoes.

One heel destroyed after 5 months of wear. Maybe I expect too much, but that seemed like a short life. Worn 3-4 days a week, fwiw. Not nothing, but still, ready for landfill in 5 months? Looking for a replacement that will last…not another pair of these.
